Training philosophy

Training dogs since 2019

At Balanced K9, we firmly believe that the key to effective communication lies in understanding. Therefore, our approach goes beyond traditional training methods. We are committed to educating handlers on dog body language and basic canine anatomy, empowering them to comprehend not only what their dogs are expressing but also gaining insight into how they perceive the world around them. This comprehensive understanding forms the cornerstone of our training philosophy.

Trining Methods

We are balanced Trainers

Balanced K9 employs a balanced training approach that incorporates both positive reinforcement and correctional training techniques. The purpose of this approach is twofold:

  1. Building New Behavior:

    • Positive reinforcement is utilized to encourage and reinforce desired behaviors. This involves rewarding or praising the dog when it exhibits the behavior that is being encouraged. This positive feedback helps to strengthen and build the desired actions.

  2. Eliminating Unwanted Behavior:

    • Correctional training is employed to address and correct undesirable behaviors. This may involve providing corrections or redirecting the dog when it displays behaviors that are not desired. The goal is to discourage and eliminate unwanted actions.

In summary, the combination of positive reinforcement and correctional training allows Balanced K9 to create a comprehensive training program that focuses on fostering positive behaviors and addressing and correcting behaviors that are considered undesirable.
